Robert L. Loftin's Profile

Bob Loftin is a practicing lawyer, CPA and Certified Financial Planner. He is one of only four lawyers in Alabama registered with the state bar as an estate planning laws specialist.

Bob began his career in 1979 at Arthur Andersen in audit and then later in tax. After earning his law degree at the University of Alabama, he joined Crowne Partners, a nationwide residential property development and management group, where he served as in-house counsel and CFO, coordinating the accounting for property management and construction, income tax compliance, lender relations and investor relations. In the mid-90s, he left Crowne and joined the law firm of Balch & Bingham, where he lead the firm’s wealth management and estate planning practice group, and counseled real estate clients in income and estate tax minimization strategies. Bob left Balch in 2003 to join the wealth planning group of what is now Regions Bank, leading a team of financial planners throughout the bank’s footprint. After three years at a big bank, Bob’s entrepreneurial thirst led him to leave and form Elyton Partners, a real estate-focused planning group. In the fall of 2016, he folded his practice in with Sirote & Permutt, PC, a Birmingham-based regional law firm. He joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt in 2018.

Bob received a B.S. in accounting, cum laude, at the University of Alabama in 1979 and received his J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law in 1984.
